A CD-RW does not have any CPU speed requierments, that goes for RAM, HDD, Floppy, and any other Hardware does not require specific processor speeds.

The requirements listed are usualy for the software that comes with the drive, or the a certain guarnetee that you can safly burn a cd without buffer errors.

I understand that. On the side of the box that the cdr came in list the system requirement that i need to install the cdr. One of them is 350 MHz or higher, which the computer does not have. It has 266 MHz. What is there to do?

Try it with the 266 it may work fine. If it doesn't work try recording at a slower speed. Maybe 24x instead of 48x.

If your computer is not fast enough for the CD-RW to run properly there are really only 3 options.

1. Take the CD-RW back for a refund.

2. Buy a new computer.

or

3. Put it in and see if you can get it to work.

HTH,

Bill

Than there is no need to install it. Ok how about this, my computer has a cdr install, it is a 24x. I don't know how many MHz the 24x requires. Can i take the 24x off my computer and install it on the other computer? My computer has 900MHz.
