Certs good "just to have"?

Is a cert good just to have when pursuing a career not revolved around IT like Game Design?

And if so, which should I get first, A+, or Network+?

hmm, it would seem in that case youd want some programming certs.....but A+ is good to have for the basics.

yeah it would be nice for you to have a+ so they would know that you can fix something and not have to pay you for two days of doing nothing waiting for your pc to get repaird

Yeah, that's true..........

But for now I just want to get a better job. A friend suggested to reconsider getting certifications to make my resume look good.

I like working with computers, however I spent alot of my time concentrating on my Gen. Ed course fulfillments. I haven't spent enough time on getting my Certs.

Now that I am almost done. I want to get a better job...

BTW: I have the All in One A+ Certification book by Mike Myers, third edition.....

Can I still use that book to study from?
