Welcome to the forum!

yep..all you need is a simple router...you can actually by em from walmart nowadays.

The linksys Befsr41 is one of the more popular ones http://www.linksys.com/products/prod...prid=20&grid=5

you would connect from the cable modem to the "wan" port of the router....then most home type routers have 4 port switches built in so you come from those ports to the pc's.

Set all the pc's on "obtain an IP address automatically" and thats probably all you need to get it up and running.

Unless your provider supplies you with more than one IP address, you can't use more than one modem, however you can do exactly as John Prophet suggested, connect your modem to the router (WAN port), and from the router (LAN ports) to each PC's network card (NIC). I've seen the Linksys BEFSR41 for less than $50. We've used this model for about 3.5 years now, with no problems at all, plus it provides NAT, giving you some additional security.
