3d Studio rendering speed

I recently got into 3ds design after a while. Im wondering how to improve render speeds. Im using 3ds max 4.2. I tried overclocking my video card and it had no effect on speed. Is it a CPU speed issue ?

Send a message via ICQ to OuTpaTienT
Mostly is an FPU issue. And since your FPU is part of your CPU, then yes it's CPU speed issue.

Overclocking will help a little. But very little.

Thanks OuTpaTienT, after some testing I came to the same conclusion. Actually after overclocking my render was a few seconds slower, due to my moving the mouse around and zooming the pic.
