Systems oops...Help.....Monitor won't display!

Silly me.....
Was in a game........and I changed the display setting to something "beyond" my monitors capability (while in the game control panel, bf 1942).
Now .......my monitor won't display!
I rebooted...... the monitor.....rebooted the pc.....I unplugged the monitor......I replugged in the monitor......I pushed and held the monitor function buttons.......I booted in "safe-mode" and was able to get the monitor back up.....went into display settings and it was set to the normal 1280X768 32bit......
However when I rebooted again......the monitor is black with all lights flashing.....

Anyone?

thanks in advance!
Brad

Heres a suggestion, Im not sure it works as I've never had a problem like that. If its an nvidia card reinstall the drivers theyll reset your resolution, refresh rate etc, the next time you boot.
