Hey All..

I've jsut installed XP Home on a 40 gig WD JB series.. I have an old Fujitsu that was in my P75.. It has personal files and pictures.. My XP is just reading it as Dynamic disk 1 Foreign !.. I want the data on the disk.. How do I safely have XP recognize it..
How the hec do I access the data on a dynamic disk???

Maybe XP doesn't read FAT16 file system. I'm not an XP user so don't know for sure, just a thought.

My crack pipe is still a little warm.. But I do believe that when i was formatting a disk it asked if I wanted to do it NTFS or FAT 16/32.. I could wrong though.. At the least I am sure that when I put in an old HD it did recognize the older FAT format..

??

You need to go to Disk Management, click on the drive, and import it to XP. A dynamic disk will not be recognized of the bat when installed into a new system, it needs to be imported first. (I think its called importing, It may be called soemthing else, but none the less it has to be done)
