Help With Email Problem

Hello, I am having a problem with sending email. I can receive fine but I can't send. I have checked and rechecked every setting and everything is correct. I contacted my host and they say everything is working on their end. I can send through webmail. I have also tried The Bat and Eudora with the same results. I am unsure of what to do next. This is the message I receive:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'VirgosRule', Server: 'tishasheree.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I disabled my NAV and ZoneAlarm and it still doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

sapphy

What email software are you using previously? M$ Outlook..? They normally have that kind of problem.

Yahoo.com email works fine with me

Hello, I've tried 3 different email programs. Outlook Express, The Bat and Eudora. None of them have worked. I can send when I use webmail but I can't access the webmail site all the time. It would be easier if I could send mail from Outlook Express.

Does your ISP block port 25? Click start, then run and type in "telnet tishasheree.com 25" without the quotes and tell us what it says in the black telnet window

I did the telnet and the cursor just blinks, it says tishasheree.com at the top but the screen stays black with the cursor blinking

It sounds like port 25 is somehow blocked. It could be a firewall/router or just an ISP who doesn't like people using 3rd party email servers. You might want to check with them..

I checked with my isp and they don't understand why I'm having a problem and they recommend outlook express.

Oh well, I'll just send through webmail every few days.

Thanks for your help

Sending error

I switched from dial-up to ADSL with the same provider. I started having problems sending mail. Sometimes it would go and sometimes it wouldn't. If it didn't, no mail would go for about 24 hours. Phone calls to my provider didn't help. Then I changed my servers from "provider.com" to "smtp.provider.com" and "pop3.provider.com" and the problem went away.
