d-link AP with a linksys router

First off I'm new to the whole wireless world as I have always had wired networks. I have a home wired network with 3 systems wired to the Linksys BEFSR41 router with newest firmware. I now am adding a D-Link DWL-5000AP to the setup for my wifes Lappy when it arrives. But for now I would like to get the AP set-up the best I can. According to the manual I have to have the computer in the IP range of 196.168.0.X range to get into the setup of the AP but the only problem is my linksys uses 192.168.1.X for IP's as I have it set to DHCP server and the puters set to receive IP auto. So what do I have to do to get access to the AP menu. I have tried to just use the 192.168.0.50 as the manual say to do but it is a no go. So all you wireless network folks LMK where to start adding the AP to my wired network. Thanks

bump ^ I'm tring to get this thing going but I can't connect to the AP as the linksys router sets IP's in the 192.168.1.x range and to setup AP needs to be in the 192.168.0.X range. Also the manual says to hook a strait through cable directly to the computer and set the IP to do setup but using a strait through I don't get a lan connection but I do with the router to the AP

never mind I just set on puter on my network to the IP range of the AP and I changed the IP of the AP to match and all is good. Now to tweak security on the wireless
