AVI Editor
Does anyone know of a decent freeware avi editor that I can download?

Its only sole purpose of use is to extract images from avi takes I have taken on the camera.

That is a shareware, I don't install shareware unless its freeware or a program that I purchase and I don't want to purchase additional software at this time.

http://www.virtualdub.com/

Or just do a search for Virtualdub, there's a million places to download it. It's freeware. It will easily convert avi files into single frame images.
