Sony MDR V700DJ

I bought these headphones 2 days ago and I am very impressed. An amasing bass and clear, sharp mid to high range.

Does anyone else have experience with these headphones?

I'm currently burning them in.

You can't compare them, 2 different systems with different aims.

The very sight of that atrocity makes my skin crawl.

I don't have any expirience with this particular model, but I do know that the current line of Sony headphones are not well liked at all by Head-Fiers (except CD3000). For 150 you could have gotten something much better. Even the V6's would be a huge improvement, as would the HD-280 Pro's.
