I am trying to move my turbotax file to another computer and I get "Sharing violation please use a different file. How can I do this.

Try moving it out of the Program Files folder on the computer that has it.

As a last resort, boot into safe mode without networking and copy the file to your desktop or wherever. Reboot and you should be good.

When booting, keep hitting F8 to bring up the boot menu.

Are you merely trying to copy the file, or cut and paste? I've experienced problems when trying to cut and paste the file, but copying the file seems to solve the problem.

I have copied my turbotax forms to a floppy and then entered them on the other computer. Thats when I get the violations call
The reason I did this is the machine I had the tax papers figured out did not have the printer working properly. I am having a lot of printing problems which I am going to ask for help but I would like to solve one prob at a time.

Oh, I was under the impression you were trying to transfer the file over a network.

If you are bored you can slap the entire drive from your comp and slap it as a slave in the one connected to the printer. Hey, it's what I'd do....

I got the printer going again and I think this is something that Turbotax puts in it's software so you can only load program on one computer. Think i'm going to get a different tax program next yaer. Turbotax sux. Everything is very slow here because this AM it was - 8 temp. This is Packer country. It will warm up by June. Ha.
