How many of you have damaged your PC through overclocking?

Just out of interest...

I personally haven't damaged any hardware... yet!

I was about to say none, but then I realised I did break my entire computer with oc once

I was overclocking my duron 333mhz, trying to reach 400mhz. Mobo burned

I fried a video card once from overclocking it. That was 2 or 3 years ago. I also damaged a K6-2 processor that I was pushing a little too far. It still worked afterwords, but lost almost all of its overclockability. Oh, I just remembered... my brother and I fried a Duron 650 or 700 by trying to overclock it. My dad, who had to buy the replacement, forbade us from doing it again... and that's when I gave up OC'ing, come to think of it.

welll i overclocked my 1800+ paly

mobo didnt like it too much. it decided that it would override everything i did and underclock it......

only way to get it back to normal was place a jumper on the board to force it to the right mhz

so i am now stuck at stock speeds with this mobo...

the Asus is a nice mobo to overclock......but almost no matter what you will probably decrease the life of the processor

Decrease the cpu from lasting 10 years to 9?
Mine usually only last a few months due to replacement---

never from overclocking but a couple motherboards from doing stupid stuff like pushing a fan wire in the slot of the cpu being fast . that made the cpu and mobo crispy
