Kids So confusing....do I wait or not...

So confusing... I read Toms, I read various threads and opinions..
I'm not a big gamer, though I do like NFS, and M$ Flight Sim.
I pressently have Verto Geforce4 Ti4200 64ddr.
Is there a video card that will really blow away the card that I have now for around $200 or less? Should I just wait another year for prices to drop? What is my card worth now if I sell it?

This ATI 9700Pro will blow it out of the water.
It blew my FX5600/256 away with flight sim 2004. $207 shipped.

Not to mention 2 monitors.

Wait.
The ti4200 performs just fine, imo.
I have it, and it can play just fine everything I have.

It looks like the GF4 Ti4200 8X is very close to the FX 5600/256 in performance.

What are your system specs?

If you have a slow processor or 256mb RAM or less, I'd upgrade those first. The Ti4200 could probably hold you over until the next round of new cards are released. And like Dax-Brandy said, prices are gonna drop.

is your card performing poorly or do you just have an urge for some upgrading?

system specs;
amd 2500
512 generic ddr
asus a7n8x-x
OS= win98 or win200pro
Just a slight urge to upgrade as I just did the rest of the system recently.
Graphics run ok but I wouldn't say perfect.

I also have a Ti4200, but it's a 128m version.
I am going to wait a while before I buy another one because this card runs everything I've thrown at it so far. I also want to see what the next generation of video cards is like too.

The only thing I'm worried about is how well it will do once I start seeing DX9 games that I want....

an fx5900 se for just under 200$ will beat a ti4200 pretty handly but you might be better off just waiting a few more months .
