I signed up for FBLA (future business leaders of America) and i got stuck with "tech concepts" so i have until next tuesday to learn everything about computers......oye....i dont stand a chance in this competition. I got this book how a computer works, and it is amazing how much is involved in a computer. It is one thing to know how to work with a computer, but it is totally different to see how it really works....
Fire away some questions when needed. Anyone that has A+ atleast knows the basics of how a pc works. And alot of us here are atleast A+ certified. I am just one of the many.......lol.
MMX oh my. THe good ole multi-media extensions. Helped tons with games and encoded apps during the pentium era..AMD used 3d now which wasnt taken in so well amoung the coder community. Thing about extensions is they are useless unless the coder implements them into the proggy. Most dont SSE for games for instance but rather RAW fpu. And like dvd to divx encoding and such the raw fpu yields better image Q (but slower) then extensions of any flavour-mmx, sse, and sse2. Dont even bother with 3d now-LOL. They ask you about sse and sse2?
well we do get to choose, i chose web design, but the site was due 2 days after we choose competitions....so that was down the drain. Then i chose desktop publishing, and my partner never showed up today to take the preliminary test. So it was either this or Intl. Business....and i know a lot more about computers than i do about Intl. Business

Well if ya gots the knowledge already you can take the tests online. Plenty of sites that offer it. Or you can study at home or take a local course if offered. And their is online courses too. Just google A+ tests and BAM 100's of sites/co's that do this. I took it through Foley and Belsaw (sp?) (have to look at cert again-LOL).
well i think im just gonna go in and wing it....i dont have my cool book anymore since the teacher wanted it back. Are there any sites out there with mad details on everything in a computer? From the sounds of things, this stuff is pretty hardcore, like not what does ram do, but how does it do it?
