Where to learn flash...book? website?

Ok I've finally been given flash access at my school computer lab for my multimedia class. The only thing is, we really dont have a teacher or anything that specifically TEACHES flash and how to successfully use it. Should I invest in a book or something and if so which one should I get? Are there good websites out there (besides the obvious www.flashkit.net) that have good tutorials on Flash MX. I kind of shun flashkit.net for now because of the lack of Flash MX specific stuff. I've tried using the Flash 4 tutorials and the interface and such is very different and half the time is spent looking for the menu they are talkin about.

So any suggestions? If Im gonna get a book hopefully it will be extensive so I can at least learn a crapload from it

Kirupa is really nice! Thanks Creatures

I actually checked out a big ol book from my college library and it seems to be pretty in depth. The books from friends of ed also seem very nice. thanks for the help.

Also just a question...is ActionScript similar to any other code? I haven't really looked into it too much so I wouldn't know. Is it an object oriented language?
