MusicMatch Bites!! Big Time!!

I purchased MusicMatch back in May of 2000.

Quote:
Thank you for purchasing MusicMatch Jukebox!

Your enable key for Version 5.10.0118 is:

XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

Please save this key in the event that you need to reinstall your program.

Your name is now registered in our customer database and you'll be able to upgrade to all our future releases free of charge.
Yeah, Right!!

Had surround sound all the time.

Apparently when the last upgrade was installed the surround sound was disabled in the software and you can't go back afterwards.

Gotta BUY IT now.

What happened to the "free" lifetime upgrades?

Evidently there was a warning to this effect in the fine print of the upgrade but who reads that stuff?

A HUGE WARNING to that effect would have been nice.

Sign me PO'ed.

BTW, anyone got $20?

Bill

You're gonna give them another $20? I'd tell them to bite me. In fact I'd probably make a whole web page dedicated to them and their suckiness. And I'd make sure they were aware of it.

But I'll never get the opportunity to get so miffed at Music Match because I wouldn't use it even if it were totally free. But that's just me.

I prefer MusicMatch over alot of other palyers but they are very much deceptive when it comes to upgrading.

Free wav2mp3 converter? man there are tons of them. Do a search for CDex .. easy, free and converts nicely.

I like the free MMJB for just listening or for ripping. But I make a habit of not buying programs otherwise available for free. There's just not much by way of return on your investment.

I'm loving MMJB, had it since 2000 also

yes the upgrade evil, DFX was even eviler, but a few nasty letters/emails and I have the 8.2 platimnum edtion

you see the upgrade from 7.5 platimnum is 8.1 or 8.2 basic, not platimnum, and they wanted me to pay more.

it should be basic to basic and plus to plus, and platimnum to platimnum, but it's not

the squeaky wheel gets the grease

oh I love my MMJB and my new Turtle Beach/Santa Cruz card gives me ear-gasms

This is why I like WinAMP - it's free and so simple it doesn't screw up.
