Outdoors GA-7N400 PRO2 - DISTRESS

Hi all.
Im about to commit Hurrycurry with my new Mobo.
I can't seem to be able to get past the windows install stage.
I have read the manual back to back...with no success.
The system initiates fine...but will not recognise the IDE 0 channel.

I have tried multiple hhd's and changed ribbons - to no avail.

Anyone out there pls help.

Regards

hello raider,

sorry to hear about your troubles but maybe i can help. i also have a 7n400 pro2 MB and not saying that you haven't done it but check the switches on your motherboard cpu multipler, depending on what cpu you are using it's usually safe to set all of the dip switches to the off position which puts the board in auto and double check to make sure your CLK_SW is set to the on position. if you've done all of that you may wanna try to clear your cmos by taking the battery out and unplugging the cord for about 30 to 45 seconds. i had similar problems with the original 7n400 pro but not with this one.

Hey DCJAZZ.
Thanks...I always make it a habit to cover the obvious (good practice I guess.) Swithes are all off. CLK_SW is on. But I have not cleared the CMOS. Didn't think that would be nessasary with a new board. Doing that now. Will let you know if that did the trick.
Ohh and Im glad that there is someone out there that knows how frustrating this is.

hi again raider, yes it is rough sometimes . but i wanted to ask you something else, do you by chance have the bios set to wide range protection? i have had a few errors in this area especially when the settings don't take affect right away. it's usually ok after that but i was just wondering
