Whats this file?

Hi, I keep getting a file on my desktop that is called ~ no extension. I delete it and it comes back sometimes in hours or the next day. I have done an up to virus scan. Running XP home.

Try scanning for spyware.

There was a thread about that file, it was some temporary file which by software fault was left on desktop.
Outlook or something...
I'll try and find the thread.

thanks muno my mom had this on her desktop and for the life of me couldnt figure out what it is.

I kept deleting the file and it would come back, it gets really annoying when things do that. But what do you expect with a M$ product.

Go to MS updates , they have known of this problem since mid 03 & should have a patch .
