Double vs. Single Sided Memory

Is there a difference between double sided memory and single sided memory?

I'm also curious to find out.

(Apologies to thread starter; I only posted so I can get notification when someone responds to this thread.)

double-sided memory will generally be faster than single-sided memory. however, the performance gap between the two is also dependent on the # of sticks used.

in benchmarks, in descending order of speed, they are:

#1-- 4 dimms of double-sided ram

#2-- 2 dimms of double sided ram or 4 dimms of single-sided ram

#3-- 2 dimms of single-sided ram

also for best results, you should be using matched ram across all the dimms. mixing dimms will incur a loss in performance.
