How much dual channel DDR400 can I use in the Gigabyte GN-7N400-Pro2?

How much PC3200 DDR RAM can I use in the Gigabyte GN-7N400-Pro2 motherboard? It has 4 DIMM slots for up to DDR400 memory. Up to 3GB max using 4 DIMMs. Can I use 4 512MB PC3200 DDR RAM? This board has all the features I need and would be a real bonus if I could use 2GB of RAM in dual channel. Anyone know?

There's your answer right there Four 512MB DIMMS shouldn't be a problem.

Ok just curious. Would hate to purchase the board then find out I couldn't do it. Some boards will only support so many banks of memory and I just wasn't sure. Wanted to find out if anyone had used this particular board and had experienced using 4 sticks of PC3200 DDR 512MB. Thanks.

Here is the possible ram config for that board:

According to the manual to run dual channel with 4 memory sticks the config is

Dimm1 DS/SS
Dimm2 DS/SS
Dimm3 SS
Dimm4 SS

Truth be known most are running 3 sticks of ram
And those who are doing alot of photo shop or such have searched out (2) 1gb sticks of ram to run in dual channel.

So let me reccomend that you have a look at the giag forums so that you can decide it this works for you or not

OK thank you dafanman that answers my question completely! Seems that only 6 banks of memory can be used. This leaves the option of finding 4 512MB PC3200 single sided memory or 2 1GB sticks of DDR400.
