flashing my Video card

just wondering if anyone can help me one this.

I have a ATI Radeon 9600SE with SANMSUNG memmory
i read that you can flash it to the pro version with the help of a decent cooler. Now i have the bios, all i need now is the program and instructions on how to do this. Can anyone here help me?

No, I don't think you can flash a 9600SE to a pro, a 9800SE, however, might be able to. Did you mean that?

I think the omega drivers have that mod.

flashing a bios is a risky thing. you can scr*w up the procedure, and leave the card dead. if you need a pro, better sell your card and buy the Pro.

Either way, good luck!

ATIs sight should have flash instructions.
If you are going to flash, you can eliminate a large part of the risk if you plug your computer into a UPS.

The ones with a large success rate are the 9800 nonpro/nonse WITH samsung ram that you can flash to PRO levels. Anything else, and you're taking a big risk.

A UPS isn't a bad idea for any computer user, but I wouldn't be getting one for the sole purpose of flashing a card. What are the chances your power will go out for those few seconds it takes to flash the card?

You can get a UPS at any major computer retailer, and the costs can vary from <$100 to well over $1000. A decent one will cost anywhere from $150 - $500 depending on how big you get.

Please don't create more than one thread regarding the identical topic

And read my reply to your original thread
http://www.techimo.com/forum/t96383.html

It's impossible to flash the 9600SE into a Pro unless you get the serial numbers as outlined.
