Jedi Academy error

I click on the icon, and then at the very first screen (just the JA background with "Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" text) I get something that asks me to send an error report. I can't on that machine because I don't have an internet connection. This happens with both the normal and safe modes. Any help would be greatly appreciated

crash

I had the same sort of problems w/ multiple games. I also had 43 processes running and one of the Mother F%$kers was interfering with my drivers and causing all kinds of hell. I am pretty sure it was a POS creative Labs sound card (under $6) and the installed drivers that was causing my headaches. I would shut down unneeded processes and try the game again. List ALL your system specs too, it helps.

PS: download updates for your video drivers, MoBo and other things that could also help. Having the latest DirectX version is a plus as well.

Thank you very much for you help, but after doing everything you had said, nothing worked. I still get the same message asking me to send the error report.

I am about to install the new patch, although it seems like nothing will work now. If the patch doesn't work, I will go back and reinstall the game.

Btw, I have a 950 MHz processor, 64 MB on board graphics, 256 MB system RAM (192 with the onboard garphics). The computer the game is on is relatively new. I used a bunch of different parts to make it though. I've disabled as many services as I could, and I don't think I had any unecessary processes running in the background (I really hardly had any).

THank you for your help. If you have any other thoughts, they would be much appreciated.

The patch didn't do anything. Reinstalling the game didn't do anything. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I spent good money on this game, my system is fine, and meets JA's requirements and then some. I guess you can understand my frustration...but I mean, it won't even tell me what the error is exactly, just taht I should send the report.

Okay, I just installed the game on a machine with Win 2000. It worked fine. This would lead me to believe that I don't really have up-to-date drivers...any thoughts?

Well I don't remember reading what OS you have. If your system is older than win2000 then maybe you do need to get the latest drivers. Did you do a full install or a partial (not sure if partial was an option)? I have to say with onboard graphics and any type of windows OS you are stretching the memory pretty thin. I know it might be pointless but you might try buying another 256 or 512 stick if you can. What are the mimimum requirements for that game?

I am running Windows XP. The Minimum Requirement for the game is 128 MB RAM. And I can't remember if I said it, but with my on-board graphics card, I have 192 MB...so I would've thought that should be enough.
