Battlefield 1942 Multiplayer Question

Hello,

I'm trying to connect to a Battlefield 1942 server and it keeps asking me for a password. I un-clicked the box that say non-password only games, but it keeps asking me for one.

Can someone tell me where I can obtain a password or how I create one. Am I supposed to use the GameSpy software to connect to a server? If so, can someone tell me how to do that? Thank you very much.

Try using the All Seeing Eye, IMO it's much better than gamespy, and it doesnt give you annoying flashy ad's that wants you to register every second.

I think you keep on running into servers that need a password.


try clicking on the nonpassword box and updating all the servers. Then click apply filter

Yeah, you have to remember to refresh the servers list after checking any boxes and also click on the apply filter button. Took a while to really figure out how all the options worked in the console. All Seeing Eye is pretty easy to use too, but they want you to register to use all the features.

Thanks again, it worked. I checked the non-password box again, updated the servers, then clicked apply filters and it connects now without asking for a password. I appreciate the help.

i find it's easier to find games and connect thru gamespy instead of using the battlefield mutliplayer interface....it also has nice feature to " playerspy" and connect to games' that your friends are in......

Stay away from Gayspy.....too many advertisements,etc.

Also, you will run into a password when you see a number in parenthesis after the amount of players in a server. For example..30/32(2) That means there are 2 reserved spots. So if there are only 2 spots open and there is a (2) after it, you will need to provide a password. If there are more than 2 spots open, then you dont have to worry.
