Converted to NTFS, now no IE History

Hello, long time lurker, but first post....converted all my FAT32 partitions to NTFS (XPpro). The conversions went fine, but now in IE the history seems messed up. Instead of seeing sites I visited today, and yesterday, and so on, it now shows folders lableled "MSHist01....." with various dates, including files named "index.dat". There are no URLs visible, just these folders. The URLs are buried in a bunch of gibberish in the index.dat files. What do I need to do to make the History URLs appear again? Is this a permissions thing?? All permissions appear to be open... tks in advance for any advice!

Repair IE6

Windows XP comes with Internet Explorer 6. Microsoft has made IE part of the core operating system. If you think IE is screwed up, and want to repair it, you must use the sfc command:

Start > Run , copy & paste Sfc /scannow & press Enter .

This will scan and restore protected system files ( which IE is ).
