ATI All in Wonder problems

I recently built a computer with the help of a friend, and everything was going great for a while, until I tried to set up the TV capturing programs.

I installed the CD that came with the card (ATI All in wonder 9000) and then proceeded to get the newest drivers online. The program froze and told me I didn't have the newest drivers, so I uninstalled everything from ATI and went at it again. Now, when I re-installed it, it tells me that my primary card and secondary card are not recognized, even though they are said to be "working properly" when I check under control panel>hardware.

I should note that I am running Windows XP Pro, and tried a system restore to remove everything I had installed, but that didn't work. I am thinking I should just use the recovery disk, but I am not sure if It is possible to use that and save some of the stuff on my drive. Any help would be appreciated.

With my 8500 aiw, I have to install xp with a junk 16 mb video card and get everything else going. Then, I shut down, pop the cheapie out and slap the aiw in and install the files. Are you doing the one big file, or the three separate ones?

I installed the following:

http://www.ati.com/support/products/...x=6&submit.y=8

and a friend told me to try this one:
http://ati.com/support/drivers/winxp...x=9&submit.y=3

Are either of these right?

I think so, it;s been a while. Did you first uninstall the drivers for the video card you had in there first? I'd consider doing that. You'll go to control panel to remove the drivers... You use the link at the bottom of your second link to uninstall all of ati's drivers.

I started the CAT-uninstaller and it asks if I want to remove both the primary and secondary drivers- do I?

Done- should I insert the disk that came with the driver (Catalyst) and then install all that, and then proceed to install the updated stuff too?

I would skip the cd files and do the downloaded files first. First, do the new catalyst drivers (3.10) and make sure all is good. Then, if everything is okay, do the multimedia center. It's very picky about that.
