Outdoors Serial ATA

Hi All....

Bought two new Maxtor Serial ATA drives 80 gig/120gig and i am now trying to set the Raid.

First though i noticed that i didnt have any jumper options on the hard drives to Master/Slave? no details on case and no instructions?, are the SATA drives not connected in the same fashion as the older drives in regards to the jumper options?

Any help on this will be great thanks

no jumpers. there is no slave or master.
each header only supports 1 drive.

If you are trying to set up a raid array you need two hard drives the same size. I believe it will still work with different size hds but you are going to lose 40 gig on the 120 gig hd. The array will only be seen as 80 gig.

If you run a RAID your drives will both be 0, as two seperate drives they will be 0 and 1
