Kids Changing/Removing DVD Region Code

Hey all, my parents recently got some Polish movies from my relatives. Problem is that they are Region 2 and we are in Region 1. Now I could play these movies on my PC but I'd rather have the folks watch it in the living room on a large tv instead of on a small LCD. I have a dual format DVD burner, plenty of DVD-R discs, and DVDXCopy Platinum 3.2 as well as Pinnacle Studio 8.

My question is this, is there a way for me to change the region code on a copy of the originals? I know that there are companies that can duplicate DVD's with the correct region code and all but I figure I could do that on my own here with the hardware I have. Any info about how I can proceed to do this would be great. Thanks in advance.

Depending on the model of your DVD player, you may be able to disable the region coding on it, allowing you to play movies from anywhere. (One of the most stupid 'features' I've ever seen...)

Check out http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdhacks for your specific player.

YOu could use something like DVD Decryptor or SmartRipper to rip the files from the DVD & remove the region coding. Then burn them to a new dvd (may have to re-encode to get them to fit onto a DVD-r disc.
