audio cd to hard drive?

How can i put my audio cd's on my hard drive i have so many?

there are a number of formats you can do...mp3, ogg, wma, monkey-audio, etc.

do a google search to find which would be of interest to you...

im going to be getting an apple i pod soon and put these songs from my harddrvive on it. so what should i do?

mp3 is the most popular format...i don't have an ipod but i would imagine it does mp3. should be easy enough to verify if you check the apple website.

ok so most of my songs in my folders are wav files how would i convert them to mp3's?

im using dr tag plus is that good for conversion to mp3

Whichever format you decide to use in the end, rip your CD's to the hard drive with Exact Audio Copy, the defacto standard for the best quality rips.

For mp3's the best encoder is LAME and anyone that tells you any different is mistaken.

AAC (mp4) is also gaining popularity. Two common sources for the mp4 encoder is Nero Burning ROM and the free Apple iTunes Player. Could be a good choice for your iPod and the audio quality is much better than mp3.

i use CDex.

it does wav -> mp3 conversions as well as does an excellent job of ripping tracks from CDs.
