Shuttle and amd question

Those little shuttle cases have that heat pipe instead of a fan on the proc right? so, if i were to do a build, I could get an oem proc without the stock fan?

Thanks!

Yes, I think you're stuck with using the heat pipe system. Of course, some vendors won't give you a warranty on the processor without the fan.

Frankly, I've read through enough user reviews to make me suspicious about going with a Shuttle case and Athlon processor.

Yes, or you could spend the extra 10 and get the warranty. Up to you. And yes, you have to use the heat pipe system. Dont OC and it runs just fine.

If you get stuck with the OEM heat sink and fan... just sell it on ebay!

BTW Been running a SS51G 24/7 since it came out ... no problems with the cooling solution so far.
