W2K Deleted E Mail storage?

Hi,

On this ship we have a number of NT4 Workstations and the Server is running W2K.

On the NT4 Machines when a user dumps their unwanted e mails the files are stored in this location. (I was logged on as admin when I wrote this down so the user name might change)

C:\WINNT\PROFILES\ADMINISTRATOR\APPLICATIONDATA\MI CROSOFT\OUTLOOKEXPRESS

Even though the User has deleted their deleted items folder and emptied the recycling bin when logging on as Admin you can still find their deleted items in this folder.

Some of these have not been emptied since 1998 so you can imagine how much space this takes up.

Where does W2K Store this type deleted file or does it dump it directly when you delete it from OE?

We probably dump in excess of 200 bits of junk from the Admin Acct mailbox every day. When I went looking I got to Profiles then allusers but there isn't anything in that folder. All the crap goes to this acct by default so since this machine was installed 2 yrs ago there has been a large amount of mail in this box, I am keen to see how much disk space is being used up by this junk.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers

Might look for and delete the file: Deleted items.dbx

It'll get recreated next time you delete something.
