I finally got some time to tweak up the system a bit.
I was running winXP with DirectX 8.1 and thought it was necessary for the performance to update to 9.0b.
BAD IDEA, my system either gives BSOD or just reboots.
Even when the system is idle.
No information is logged in eventviewer. But problems started after installing the latest DirectX.
So, is there a way to roll back to version 8.1 without reinstalling winXP? There is no install feature, but there must be some software to remove directX components?
You can't uninstall DX9.
Same as all DX versions since 7.
Sorry.
You might try a repair install before a full reinstall though.
and remember to unencrypt any files you may have encrypted with the EFS. You won't be able to do it afterwards.
