XP Home PC thinks it a XP Pro PC

Have this PC, laptop sitting here on workbench, playing up...

Last thing i was trying was SFC /scannow...

Place cd in drive and start test....error pops up asking for right cd....a XP Pro disk.....the OS is saying its XP Home...

Ideas please.

No one no`s, ok....

All problems with pc....Modem not working, CD-rom not seeing anything on CDs.

Fixed.

Wrong drivers installed, and s/r worked for cd-rom, it took out some hot-fixes.

Didnt have time to run SFC again as owner of laptop came back for it...

No ideas why a xp home would think it was a xp pro!
