LiquidVideo 17" flat panel monitor

Circuit City has a 17" flat panel monitor for $299 (after rebate), it is a LiquidVideo (Nexgen Media Tech) brand. It seems to have pretty good specs but I have never heard of that brand before. Does anyone have any experience with this brand and does the unit spec look good (I know nothing about flat panels).

Thanks

Bought this monitor for a friend (from CircuitCity even). Its design is very attractive, and graphics are quite sharp and fully colored.

*HOWEVER* it is not very suitable for gaming. The response time is slow, meaning it will 'blur' when things move too fast. (Many people would call this 'ghosting'.) In IE for example, scrolling a page up and down very fast will 'blur' the text. On a good monitor (with low/faster response times) you will see very little (if any) ghosting.

If you don't think that would bother you.. then go for it! See if they have a setup in the store that you can try out. My friend did keep the monitor, rather than return it. It was acceptable enough for him I guess.

[edit: I bought this monitor back in August, and the rebate arrived in October, I believe]

thanks

for the information, my brother just bought two for his office (few minutes ago). It sounds like these would make good business monitors.

i've seen this and almost bought it myself.. Great looking screen but it's analog only and slow refres rate will prob not be the best for gaming. i'm looking at this one .

or this one with digital inputs. they have better refresh rates

Go with NEC LCD monitors, they are one of the cheapest but also the best for gaming because they have almost no ghosting and almost all have 16ms response times.

I suggest
17inch

15inch

or the big one
