? on Office XP

My son is going to San Diego State and is taking an Office XP course. (almost 600 students in the class)

He can get a student version for $80 from the school.

What's the difference in the student version vs. the regular version?

What's in Office XP and if he gets it should he install it on his laptop (XP) or should he install it on one of my 2K machines here at home because a lot of his projects will be internet accessible?

Will it install on 2K BTW?

I currently have Office 2000.

I'm not sure really what I'm asking for other than some guidance.

Thanks,

Bill

well i know once he graduates from the school he has to unistall it from his machine and is not able to sell it as stated in the lisence agreement

i dont think there is a difference software wise between the regular and student

yes it will install on 2k

office xp comes with word, powerpoint, excel, Access, outlook, and frontpage.

as to where he installs it, it doesnt really matter. if he likes to work on his laptop then go for it. If he likes to work on a desktop use that

A little update .........

My son went to the student bookstore to pick up a copy and was informed that FedEx lost the entire shipment of the software.

After MS investigates there will be another shipment in a few weeks.

As pointed out in another thread, with the educational version you may install it up to 3 computers. See http://www.techimo.com/forum/t95719.html
