Peachtree-printer stops after

printing a few checks. When sending a print job to the printer of say like 50 checks to print it will print the first 10 then about half of the 11th then stop printing. The printer has no problem printing other doc and prints a test page just fine. It has in the past had no problem printing anywhere from 30-80 checks at a time. BTW this is on a business machine. I tried changing the printer time out from the default 15sec to 30sec both in windows and in peachtree. This is an older ver. of peachtree and myself not knowing much about peachtree has me at a loss. One thing that has me thinking about is this computer runs 2 printers the check printer being an Okidata and the other for standard docs is an HP Printer/copy/scanner/fax. There is a manual switch to change printers as both run on printer port. There hasn't been an issue up til this point as it has been running this way for years.

Have you tried sending the checks in part. Maybe the printer memory is being overloaded with the volume of data at one time.

I believe that's what we are going to do on the next print run. I really wish they would upgrade to a newer ver of peachtree or even the epeachtree would be great. Things are kinda a mess in accounting as the accounting person is quiting on the 28th of this month.

What version of Peachtree are u using?

I dislike peachtree altogether. We use quickbooks at office. It's the most user-friendly accounting software out there and support is great.

They are using 2.0 Runs in MSDos mode. But they are in the process of going to a new system in June of this year. I think we are going to just baby it along til then. Seems that it is working only printing 20-30 checks at a time.

Make sure the Okidata is set for draft mode.... it will use less memory that way.

never thought to check that, I wonder how much difference it would make on print quality on the checks.
