i just got my fx5900 se from evga and i did the 3dmark03 and got 4115 as my score.
1024x768
32 bit
60hz

i only got 12349 on aquamark3??

Amd athlon 1.2 ghz
asus a7v133 mobo
via kt133 chipset
384 pc133 ram
windows xp

does overclocking improve the performance? and does it damage the card. how do i overclock and how do i know the limit?

you really shouldn't worry about oc'ing that video card your being helb back performance wise by that older cpu and mobo combo. Before buying that card you should ahve thought about upgrading the cpu/mobo combo as well as the pc133 ram damn to say overkill on the video card is an understatement

You should be happy with that score, since you got an extremely slow Duron and a bad mobo. Try updating the video card drivers, that got my 5200 Ultra score up by 600!!! (in 3dmark03) I also OC it, but you really shouldn't be OC the 5900 SE-YET! Maybe like in a few months or so, I would say stay away from the SE editions if you're planing to use the card MAINLY for gaming!

your entire system is bottleneck, not the card. do not oc the card - oc the system if you can... or better yet, get a new one.

That's actually a pretty good score, I heard people get 5700 by turning a 5900 into a 5950 Ultra. So you should be happy with 4115 in 3dmark03.

That should last you at least a full year in gaming, plus if you update your drivers, like me, that could also give you a little boost in preformance.
