Compaq Prosignia Screen Problem

The right vertrical inch on my laptop is 'snowy'. You can kind of see through it but I'm wondering if it can be repaired without taking out a home mortgage? I tried reloading the video driver but it didn't help. Maybe I dodn't do it correctly or???
Thanks, Don

If you've had the lpatop a while there's not anything much you can do but replace the LCD.

I figured as much. If I could get a used screen for $100 or so it would sort of make sense. The machine is perfectly usable the way it is but.....
Thanks, Don
