CMOS checksum

Can anyone tell me what does cmos checksum error-Defaults loaded means? Also I do I go about this error I get on the start of my pc?

could be that your cmos battery is failing/dying. it cant hold data anymomre so it loads up the default values everytime you boot.

I don't think that it. The computer barely has much data. I use to have a beeping sound and when that was fix and I was able to boot up this was the message i got.

i mean your BIOS data. the CMOS is a chip on the mobo that holds all the information that your mobo needs to boot. if the battery power is low, the data is erased.

yes. make sure you buy the exact model o fthe battery.
btw, how old is your motherboard?

Hey one of my PC's gives that same problem. I tried changing the battery but that didn't solve the problem. It's a DFI board with a P4 1.6 processor.

well, it's not always the battery is at fault. it could be a motherboard problem too. check on the link. there are actually too many reasons for that and number one is the battery.
