Whatever you are playing must support 5.1 to send the signal out to the back speakers.

Just curious... because I am thinking about doing the same thing.. how long of a coax cable did you run? My computer is about 20 feet away from my receiver so I am hoping it will work.

thnxs.

i have mine on top of my tv like 4 feet away. I always like a little more slack just in case. I have like a 6 feet cable. I have it hooked up both fiber optical and coaxial. If u want the 5.1 for games and such I would suggest getting the SB audigy2 zs and to hook it up to 6 channel input on the receiver using RCA to mini Y connectors. Hook it up to the three outputs on the back of the card. Its really cool playing American Army in 5.1. Its kinda scary in a way, but its good cause u can pinpoint someone if they shoot or walk on metal floor.
