wow, impossible.

To get the 9000 Pro to run like a 9600 Pro, the core would have to be over 600 Mhz considering the process efficientcy of the 9600 Pro. And this is not considering the high latency of the 9000 Pro's memory.

The core of the 9000 Pro is 274 Mhz

The only way I could see is if you flash overclocked the core using LN.

Defintatly not that high, i'm not a vet in overclocking so I'm not sure how high you can get. But i know not that high......

I don't even think the 9000 PRO supports DX9 like the 9600XT and 9700..

Honestly I've never heard of being able to flash a 9000 PRO to anything higher than what it already is.

The closest thing you could do to "flashing" this card to an upgraded version would be by flashing some cash at the geek behind the counter at Best Buy for the real thing.

Ritalin Kid is correct, 9000 Pro is not a DX9 card. IMHO, it is a horrible card. With a little more, you can get alot more.

As for the overclocking, impossible. No way you can reach speeds that fast unless you somehow make the card DX9, and get uber-cooling to push up the frequencies

I used power strip to overclock my 9000 pro but that really didn't help much. I think I was able to oc the core by 25mhz and the memory by only 10 or 15mhz before it started overheating and producing artifacts. You can buy heat spreaders and fans for it but that is a waste of money imo.

Good luck but Ritalin Kid is right. The only flashing you are going to be doing is cash at the counter.

The memory on the 9000 Pro is actually Hynix chips rated for 300 Mhz, you could get away with overclocking the memory to 295 from 274, as far as the core goes I would not even attemp to OC it.

The 9000 Pro is not a horrible card at all, its on par with a Geforce FX 5200 Ultra with DX8 althought it does not support DX9.

But the 5200 is a horrible card too :\ (IMHO)

I'd much rather pay a bit more, and get the 9600 XT, Pro, Se, Normal.

Trust me. I had hynix on 8500 BBA> Its not that simple. Getting 300mhz rated mem to go 300mhz. Problem lies in the Video card bios. Diff versions. For diff speeds and diff mem chips. End result. A tighter setting like lower cas and longer TRAS will make mem flakey at persay 275mhz even though rated for 300mhz. No garuntee without knowing which bios you have and if the timings differ. Ask the guys trying to flash non Samsung mem chipped sapphire NP's to 9800pro's and ask if they are diff then other mem types! That bios is made for that chip with its exact timings at that speed. Other chips just give up the ghost and artifact all over. Big diff. Mhz means nothing in mem too (not literally of course). I'll taker better timings over a slightly higher mem mhz any day.
