Beware latest OM rebates!!!............
I couldn't find where this has been mentioned here already but thought I'd let y'all know about what seems to be a common problem on some of the latest OM rebates..........
Black friday in particular produced some unbelievable rebates results, the likes of which I've never seen.........
For a lot of folks, the 100pk Khypermedia 32x CDr's rebate show as UPC being invalid or not included. Also the DVD+R and DVD-R seem to be included as "upc invalid" or "upc missing". These seem to be remedied by calling the rebate center and them "overriding" the invalid status.
For myself, the same batch, same page and same envelope also included the khypermedia 52X CD-burner and OM shows not having rec'd ANY pcs of the burner rebate. I don't know what to say except that this is possibly the worst I've ever seen out of OM and may have to reconsider doing rebate deals with them anymore if it's not an ER.com rebate! |

I'm pretty upset with Office Max also. I did the rebate run after Thanksgiving, resulting in me spending ~ $350. They've sent me checks for amounts less than I'm really owed, and all that junk. I'm pretty upset. Plus, I got a 100PK Khypermidea CDRs and they sent back that the UPC code was bad. Like, whatever. I'm calling them today.
Circuit City, on the other hand, has been excellent. I already have 1 out of 3 checks, and they've been effortless. I can say I've gotten alot of positive results with Circuit City in the rebate field.
rebates. *sigh*

| Are you saying you sent two different rebates in one envelope? If so, I hate to say but you should've known better. Sometimes different rebates go to different addresses. Anyway, had you made copies of all you mailed to them, you probably wouldn't be in the quandary you are now.

Toad......dude,
All copies made & accounted for.
All rebates (in this case) justifiably sent to the same address and CONFIRMED by OM.
This isn't a matter of end-user rebate mistakes.......I'm probably more meticulously anal about my rebates than anybody on this board (copies, rebate-rebate software, pdf scans etc. etc.)
This is an OM rebate problem. BTW, on the OM rebates, you simply check the boxes that you're sending in their booklet (I only use the booklets when I can't use ER.com) and you can send as many rebates in the same envelope as there are boxes if you'd like! This is not unusual whatsoever, what's unusual is the way OM handled **this** particular batch of transactions!

However, OM rebates still stink.
And that's a fact.
But mailing multiple rebates in the same envelope isn't too incredibly smart.

implexant,
read above.
EDIT: Should clarify that I don't mean to sound rude, just that I've sent literally hundreds of OM (and this is the exeption... ***OM***) rebates in the same envelope where the rebate page shares an offer # and only individual boxes are checked and I've absolutely never had this problem w/ OM before.

Hmmm, must have been reading my mind as I was going to post a new thread about the same.
Apparently they are using a new rebate company as the ones your refering to are NOT rebatesHQ. Wether this is a subsidiary company of OM or not these people are blatently refusing rebates for no reason.
I received the 'wrong UPC' email yesterday on the DVD-R and DVD+R and called them up to see WTF the problem was (i've done at least $1500.00 in rebates and have received every one).
The rep put me on hold and when she returned to the phone told me that she would validate the rebates for me. Gee, thanks, why did I have to waste my time calling in the first place? She had no answer for that.
So I checked my email confirmation for the 'valid' status, which was good untill I see that they refused my Palm Zire rebate of $20.00. Call them back up and this time the rep wants me to read him back the UPC of the copy of the paperwork. No problem, give him the UPC and he validates the rebate.
Beware, this company is far worse then rebatesHQ.
It's been said many times before but I will repeat it anyhow, make copies of everything.
OM Rebate # 888-214-9192...hit the # sigh when you get the automated menu. This will put you in the 'holding' pattern for a rep right away.

I posted what I said after you posted your reply.
I agree completely. But I still would have sent them in seperate envelopes just to make sure.
Like I said: bottom line is OM rebates are a joke. No doubt about it. I sent mine in seperate envelopes and they still can't get it right.

WB | Great! That got me right through to the hold, instead of getting someone to transfer me
Thanks a bundle!
Now to hold for another 15min............
