Kids Static IP's / dual router / VNC questions

I'll try to keep this simple but I need some help on this one.

I setup an account for two offices located in the same building for broadband. They are sharing the expense for the access and 5 static ip's.

Here's how I set it up (feel free to tell me where I'm wrong ).

1. Cable comes into a ISP provided router.
2. Leaves the ISP router to the uplink port on a Linksys 5 port switch.
3. Port #1 on the switch goes to a Linksys Wireless B router's WAN port.
4. Port #3 on the switch goes to a Linksys VPN router's WAN port.
5. On both routers, ports 1 are used to a server on that network, ports 3 go to workstations.

On the wirless router, I assigned the first WAN static ip of xxx.xxx.xxx.x50, the VPN router WAN ip of xxx.xxx.xxx.x51. I set both routers up to forward ports 5900 to the two different servers (both running XP Pro).

All of the computers on the two different networks access the Inernet and their associated Intranets perfectly.

Here's the problem. I have RealVNC server running on both servers. If I am at the location, I can access either server with VNC. When I am at home, I cannot get access to the computers?? My home server (using the same wirless router as above) can be accesssed from there but not visa / versa.

Suggestions as to where to start looking for the conflicts? I disabled screen savers and power options. Should I be looking at the ISP's router as the possible problem or is it my topology / router configuration?

I gotta get remote access ASAP so any advice would really be welcomed .

TIA!

Mike

I woudl look into the ISP router first.. is it performing NAT? Does it have any rules in place to filter packets?

One good test is to simply go to one office and test the VNC connection to the computer in the other office (therefore you can determine if that office's router in configured correctly).

Can you ping the work machines from your home machine? (This will verify connectivity.) Like DVNT implied, the ISPs firewall may be blocking certain ports that VNC uses.

DVNT1 -

Do you ever get tired of always being right .

Sorry I didn't get right back and post the results .

As DVNT1 said, it was the ISP's router and an hour of phone calls for them to get it properly configured.

Ruler2112 -

I tried pinging from a remote connection and all packets were lost, when I got to the site after posting this, I pinged the opposite IP's and they too were lost, hence my phone call to RR.

Since they've fixed their router, it's been perfect. I kinda wish it wasn't working because I have been non-stop on the systems since . Maybe some things are better left broken .

Thanks for the responses. I figured it was something I did as it was the first time trying a setup like this. Good to know I laid it out the right way the first time.
