PSU wires.

Do I really need to have the 10 gauge wires (guessing on that) that the PSU comes with? Or can I switch them for something like 16 gauge wires? It would be nice to be able to wrap them and have them fit in like a 16mm tube.

the gauge of the PSU wire is not accidental. the size of the wire is achieve by computation and with respect to the amount of current the wire is going to handle. smaller wires will heat up easily with higher current that flows through it.

If they're 10 guage that's some great PSU because even #16 is rare, and most use #18. If you go slightly smaller the connector crimps drop too much voltage because they either fit loose or don't have enough surface area for contact, and if you go a lot smaller the wires themselves drop too much voltage.
