Outdoors Epox 8K3A+ Crashes

I have a Epox 8K3A+ with 2 separate processors I have been testing. The first is a 1.4G T-Bird, the second is an Athlon XP 2200+.

With the T-Bird I cannot run the board in the 133 FSB. When I set it to the 133 with a 10.5 multiplier windows will not boot, and I cannot enter the BIOS. When I use 100 FSB it runs fine, but slow.

With the 2200+ the board always resets to 133 FSB but will not run stable. Temperatures as well within range with a Volcano 11 heatsink and fan. The system reboots constantly with no blue screens or errors.

I am running the newest BIOS for the mobo.

Has anyone seen, and hopefully fixed similar problems?

Send a message via AIM to rpertusio
Questions:
- How's your memory? What speed/brand is it?
- What are the crash error codes?
- Any errors/warnings in your event viewer? (Start Menu -> Run... -> eventvwr.msc )

Things to try:
- Increase the 'core voltage' in your BIOS by 0.025v or 0.050v
- relax your memory timings by raising their numbers (RAS-to-CAS, Active Precharge, etc...)

Not sure if those could help or not.. but.. might give you an indication of where the problem isn't at the very least.

[edit: corrected voltages]

On the motherboard, be sure the JCK1 jumper is on pins 2-3.
Page 3-5 of the manual.

Have that board myself in one of my systems. Its currently running an XP Barton 2500+ as a 2700+ (166 x 12.5)
