Weird Monitor Problem

this happened last saturday. while i was browsing the internet, the monitor just suddenly turned off. it still have a greed LED ON (means video is still received). The PC did not reboot or anything. i checked the video cable connection to the video card but everything is in place and properly connected. what i did next was i unscrewed the monitor cable from the video port then put it back again after 10 sec then the monitor display was fine again. I know this wasnt a video card problem. Might be the monitor is dying? what do you think?
