2600+ temps its COLD IN HEAR

I was at a lan party and my computer started to freak out and say cpu fan failed. So after a lot of messing with stuff a friend comes over and says dude you heatsink is on backwards. I am like oh I dident now there is a way for it. So he switches it and I went from temps of 120-130 idel to freaking 80 idel. IT IS SO COLD for a amd cpu.

You're lucky you didn't fry the CPU.

If you look @ an AMD socket A heatsink , it has a step / ledge / ridge ( what ever it's called ) , in it . The A socket also has a ledge / step / ridge @ the top , if not oriented properly , the heatsink will be tilted and only touching part of the cpu core .
Many have installed them backwards over the years , including me , not very hard to do .
