KVM or PC Anywhere?

I am going to add a Win2K server to my network. With limited space I'd like to use the same keyboard, mouse and monitor from my main computer.

Any KVM suggestions? Is it possible to control the server with PC Anywhere?

you could just setup a VNC server on it.
but i have a keyboard+mouse hooked up to it anyway.

anything i do on it i connect with tightvnc viewer.

might look into that. www.tightvnc.com i believe

If it's Win2K Server OS, it comes with Terminal Server for admin built in. You don't need a KVM or PC Anywhere.

RealVNC

I've got 2K Server and still prefer RealVNC. It can be setup as a service and used on multiple OS's.

I also have a KVM, but it's for both servers. It is very handy for when I'm actually on the other side . . . of the room.

Workstation has XP Pro

My workstation has XP pro, can I still use terminal services to connect to the Win2K?

Is this already installed on the XP or do I need to install it? I can I access it?

win2k server has the option to enable terminal services. and yes from winxp you can access the remote desktop

go to start > settings > control panel > go to add remove programs > click add/remove windows compnent > and check terminals services.

the KVM Hardware Solution is always more proffesional; it's hardware dependent and not software dependent so you can control your Servers in Bios mode and Boot problems. i am an IT Proffesional and i manage my Server room With Minicom KVM Switch. i have one Keybord / Mouse /Video on my room, and i control a whole Server farm from there. i use Minicom Matrix.
they are not cheap as belkin - but i have no time for Integration problems .
