Mitsu. floppy not recognized after 98 to XP upgrade

I upgraded Win 98 to Win XP and windows can't see my Mitsubishi floppy now. Tried all the usual Windows remedies without success. I tested the drive in another computer and it is OK. HELP!

Have you tried to go to the setup page in the Bios, Advanced CMOS features, and see if it is recognized there?

Try temporarily disabling any active virus scanning just in case that's the problem.

from the computer where it is not recognized, is the LED always ON? try to enable floppy seek in the BIOS? at least you will know if it is not recognized or not by the BIOS.
