Gaming Tons of STRANGE emails..

My mother works as a lecturer, okay, so sometimes when I have time I fetch her up at around 6 or 7 pm.

I got a complaint from my mum about her inbox (M$ Outlook). She has been receiving tons of weird emails, like a spam or spyware whatever. In a day, she'll be receiving at aroung 60-70 of unknown emails.

So all I do, is to select the unwanted emails and delete'em. But that didnt solve anything the next day.

She also added that those emails will also send (like forward) to the entire building, using my mothers email accounts.

What has actually happening and how do i get rid of this mess? Is there any software or whatever?

Yes get Spy bot and/or AdAware (http://www.lavasoft.de )

Also make sure her virus scanner is (installed assumed) up to date and fully scan the box
There are a number of bugs flying around that use your machine for spamming

I agree. It does sound like a virus.

She may have opened an attachment she shouldn't have.

Sounds like a virus. Scan her computer and have all the other computers in the building scanned as well.

I think that Hotmail has gotten really bad lately with just the spam mail that you get from that account! I used to live by hotmail until I started getting emails about enlarging parts of my body that I do not have.

Incredimail is only the program, like outlook express, and unless you pay to subscribe, you still have the same email account. i would say that if she is getting emails sent from her account to others, it would be a virus.
