Gaming Lost D and E drives

I searched google for something similar and found this forum, hope you guys can help, I'm on Win XP Pro and my D and E drives will not work for me.
I went into Device Manager and it showed 3 errors for three different things.

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

For both D and E Drives

and

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times, can anyone help?

Kind of an extreme measure but try a Windows repair through the XP CD.

I wouldn't suppose you've done any downloading from Kazaa, recieved any e-mails telling you to get important patch, received any notices of mail undeliverable, have any unexpected missing files? Is your antivirus up to date?

Downloading from KaZaA (Yes)
Received any e-mails (No)
Notices (No)
Missing Files (No)
Antivirus Up-To-Date (Yes)

And I can't get any CDs to run...
so scratch the Windows XP CD thing

If it is the operating system, you should still be able to boot to the CD as long as your bios is set to boot from cd. If not it is a hardware or BIOS problem.

I'm sorry to say that you got the worm.
you may have to use boot disks to redo your partion and format.
